Gas prices again on the rise- again

Bad news for car drivers in the U.S.A.: gas prices has gone up. The prices have increased by 8 cents a gallon (= 3,785 liters) and the diesel fuel prices has risen by 5 cents a gallon. All of this happened in a few days.

It's quite remarkable that the prices have increased because, for a while, they decreased. In the last 3 months, the gas prices have been staying within a 15 cent range.

It isn't cetain what causes the price increase, some experts think that it's due to the fact that demand and supply have no longer an influence on the oil prices.

The gas prices are increasing and life is getting more expensive. Here are some tips how to save some money on gas:
  • Fill up your tank before the holidays starts because demand will increase when the holidays starts.
  • Don't drive to hard, otherwise you lose more gas.
  • Buy a car that doesn't consume too much.

I think a car is very useful. You are free, you can do what you want. However, a car is quite expensive. You must pay a lot of money for a car insurance, gas, taxes.
But I go by train or by bicycle because it's better for the environment and it isn't such expensive.

My conclusion: In the future, gas will become expensive because it will be hard to find. There are some alternatives (for example: an electric car). But there should be more promotion for these alternatives.

  1. I also believe that driving a car will become more expensive. At the moment there is no equal alternative which can replace our current car. So further research is needed to develop more economical and green cars. It’s up to the government to invest in these studies and to promote good alternatives.
They must also encourage public transportation, biking,…
